Jacobs Introduces Scaffold Law Reform Legislation

On September 11, 2020, Congressman Chris Jacobs introduced a bill that would exempt any project with federal funding from the Scaffold Law. This is happening at the federal level because New York state has not been able to fix this archaic law. Not only will this bill lower construction costs on projects with federal funding, our hope is that it will push the state towards long overdue reform of Scaffold Law on all projects. Our communities and businesses need this reform now more than ever.

Members of the Construction Exchange and representatives from AGC NYS, the NFIB and Scaffold Law Reform Coalition joined the congressman for a press conference introducing the bill.
