New Law Requires More Information on Check Stubs for Prevailing Rate

A New York state law took effect on June 23, 2020 that requires contractors and subcontractors to provide written notice to all laborers, workers or mechanics of the prevailing wage and supplement rate for their particular job classification on each pay stub. Notice of the new law can be found the NYS DOL website here and the referenced form can be found here.

Construction Exchange has signed on to a letter with other industry groups asking for a delay in the law until questions on how to implement it and more guidance can be provided. Even by New York standards, very little information has been provided on how construction companies should comply with this law. We will keep you updated with any developments resulting from our letter.
